You're welcome, glad I could help!

I've been thinking about it and with a wound like Lexi's I think I'd look for one with the UMF or NPA stamp on the label rather then MGO. UMF looks to be more stable then MGO.

Thank you so much. I will be sharing this info with my vet. I really want to give the Manuka Honey a whirl.

Rain - how did the Manuka Honey work on your wound when you used it???

It actually worked really well, and stopped the infection

Just for anyone lurking.. I don't recommend using it in place of dr., vet, care, when dealing with a large, or infected, wound.

Treated hundreds of wounds with plain old honey, Manuca honey and even granulated sugar. Have not noticed a significant difference among the three... all work pretty well at keep wounds from getting infected and stimulating a nice, healthy bed of granulation tissue and wound closure. Perhaps there is some small advantage to Manuca honey, but I have not noticed it myself.

When my 16 year old Shih Tzu had surgery last year on her foot (2nd year in a row), because of how deep the surgeon had to go there was a big hole without skin. He had me use everyday white sugar and keep it covered. I have to admit I thought he was crazy but she healed wonderfully and (fingers crossed) the growth has not come back. It is amazing what everyday items can do. Good luck and the wound does look great.
