Itchy Dog

I adopted a 3 month puppy from a rescue a little over a month ago. She has been excessively itchy ever since we got her. She likely had fleas prior to us getting her as she had some bumps all over her. She had one set of puppy vaccines two days before we got her. The rescue treated her with front line the night prior to us getting her. The day after we got her she was seen by our vet and was given nexguard and an antibiotic, Benadryl, and maybe heart worm pill as well. The next day we got a hookworm medicine after the stool sample was tested. The itching got even worse and I took her back a week later and they did a skin scraping to check for mange, which was a miserable experience for the pup. It came back negative, but the vet said they'd already given her the treatment for 2 types of mange and she gave us revolution who's was the treatment for the 3rd type of mange. So apparently she's been treated for all types of mange so that shouldn't be it. She also got steroids. That reduced the itching a lot. While the steroids were being reduced she got another set of vaccines. We went back last week and she got her final puppy vaccines. Her itching is still excessive and she has bumps but she's not inflamed. She has hair loss on her belly and some on her legs from all her itching and licking. We were given the option of a medicated spray or bath. We opted for the spray. When we try to spray her she acts like we are dousing her with acid. If I spray it on a paper towel and rub it on her she is less inclined to fuss. Her stool sample came back for parasites and she's got medicine for that as well. We've been keeping her away from other dogs as she'd not been fully vaccinated and I wanted to ge this itching thing under control. She is signed up for a puppy socialization class today and an obedience class tomorrow. I'm concerned about going as I don't know what the heck is her issues and would she be contagious. I'm concerned about not going as she's over 16 weeks old and needs the socialization and training.

The rescue claims that none of her litter mates are having any issues - which if I'm to believe her - would indicate that whatever is going on with my pup is her own thing and not contagious.

I'm not sure what to do. I'm going to call the vet this morning to see if they would say it's contagious and she should stay away from other dogs.

This is so frustrating and makes me regret getting the dog from a rescue rather than just finding a breeder. I certainly didn't save any money. And the puppy doesn't like me anymore as I'm spraying her with the medicated calming spray

Could it be a food allergy? When I got my puppy I had bought him some food that came highly recommended, but then I realized he was super itchy, just touching his body for petting and he would twitch. I realized after speaking with the vet that that food had way to many ingredients and it was likely he was allergic to something in the food, so I switched his diet and he stopped being so itchy, might be worth a shot.

There are just so many different things that could be causing the itchiness, from food allergies, to environmental allergies, dry skin, insect bites, reactions to the vaccines, different types of skin infections, and on and on. Could be time to involve a Vet that specializes in dermatology.
