I need to know what this is on my dogs neck

I first seen this yesterday Saturday when i was removing his shedding hair. He is a 6 year old neutered Husky. Where i live it gets really hot 95+ degrees everyday, so i take him inside from 9am to around 5pm when there is shade in my backyard. Yesterday when he was inside i was removing some of his loose hair and came upon this. Im fearing the worst which looks like some sort of skin cancer or tumor. I dont have enough money to have him operated but i will for sure take him to the vet Monday to determine his fate, i just want to know what you guys think this is. You cant really see good, but its a ball, like a mini ping pong ball

It looks like a sebaceous cyst, which can easily be removed (if necessary) by your vet!

maybe...

Call your vet before you try anything, though.

I took it to the vet and my dog seems to be very healthy everywhere else. Turns out its a tumor according to the vet and its going to cost between 800-1000 to have it removed or 300 just to check if it or not. I dont have that much money so the vet told me to just leave it be and keep an eye on it to see if it keeps growing because she said some tumors are cancerous and others are not. And by the age my dog she said many dogs get some type of tumors at the age. I will go through the surgery if they accept payments because i just cant drop a grand just like that. I really hope it doesnt grow anymore.

It looks really small and surface. I don't know what the rates are for your area, but maybe try another vet, even make inquiries by phone.

Sorry it didn't turn out to be a tick. :-(

It cost me something like that to have a LARGE internal tumor removed from my previous dog, + ultrasound + initial exam, and I'm in Canada, and things are pretty expensive here, so maybe you'll have better luck elsewhere.

Holy cow! That's a high price for that! Get another opionion from another vet. It looks like something, maybe a cyst that could easily be taken off, and sent for biopsy, but it shouldn't cost that much, for that little spot. I wouldn't use that vet.
