Help saving My dog please!

Last year we found out Pomba had Leishmaniosis.
The approach for this in my country is sacrificing it, but since the problem is with mosquitoes, I moved to someplace where the vector cant breed and avoid the disease from spreading.

I did everything i could, spent a lot of cash, but the disease is advancing and she is pretty old (12 yo), and she also has artritis.

I do treat everything, from the skin, special soap, spray, condroitine for the articulations. She wears a special collar which repels any mosquito and protects the surroundings. My other younger dog Calvin already got the vaccine and wears the collar too... So everyone else is protected. Including me and my wife.

But today i went to the vet and found out there is indeed a CURE for this... Itīs a brand new medicine called Milteforan which significantly decreases the parasite taxes.

I did everything i could so far, but this medicine is way too expensive.. itīs 400 euros, but in brasil that goes up 4x with local currency: around 1600 reais.

Iīm barely having money to pay my bills, the country is going through a tough crisis and economical recession. So all i come here to ask for, is any help i can get in order to raise 1600 reais ( approximately 550 us dollars). I just need to buy this medicine, and give Pomba my last shout of hope. It is very sad to see the disease spreading, and even though i know she will die eventually because of the age, i will make all the effort i can to give her quality of life... i will try putting up some pictures of her...

Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry for what you and your dog are going through, but I don't think anyone is going to send money to someone randomly over the internet. Try setting up a " Go Fund Me" account online, or work out payments with a vet.

Yeah you may be right... maybe itīs not even about getting the medicine... I feel like iīm also sharing what itīs like to be in touch with a disease that has no possible solution... i donīt know... maybe i just need to share... something in me had to spread this word, since even iīm doing everything possible, i see it spreading. its painful. if not from the disease she would get older and die anyway. we will also die one day so why should i care? but i do... im not just givin up. i will take care with or without this medicine. today i went to the vet and they said this was already available there, so i think this was a sign of some sort... i will plant hope, who knows?

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I know it may not be what you want to hear, but perhaps it's time to let your friend go. Without medical attention she is suffering and it may be the biggest kindness you can give them.
