Help!

My 6 year old dog got diarrhea this past week, Saturday Sunday, was fine Monday and Tuesday, then got it again Wednesday. Thursday morning she still had it and I called my vet who said they would see her this coming Tuesday and to start her on the bland diet, chicken and rice and also give her Imodium. Thursday night I got home and started her on the diet and gave her a very small dose of the Imodium, that was the only time I gave it to her. She didn't poop until Friday evening. It wasn't diarrhea but part of it was a yellow color. She hasn't pooped since then (2 days). Is it normal for dogs to not poop when on the bland diet? She's acted her normal crazy self throughout everything. She's also not drinking as much water as she normally does.. Still peeing though an almost clear color and her gums aren't dry or tacky.

The color is probably caused by the chicken and rice, I know it's pretty common for it to cause that.

When my boy had colitis I ended up putting him on the chicken and rice diet and he scared the heck out of me because he ended up not pooing for around 2 days, then he pooed once and didn't poo for another 2 or so days. Once I had him back on a normal diet his bowel movements went back to normal. I'm not sure if that's true for all dogs, or my dog is just strange. I did call the vet when he didn't have a bowel movement the first time and they were not overly concerned about it. I was told to keep and eye on him and if he went another couple days with no bowel movement bring him back in.

If she normally eats dry kibble then her drinking less is most likely due to the high water content of the chicken and rice. Sort of like the difference between us eating dry cereal or fruit. The cereal will make you thirsty, the fruit won't.

Thank you! She must be strange also and just likes terrifying me. She's never had any problems in the past. All she wants to do is eat chicken and play with her toys now
