Extreme shedding from labrador-pointer puppy

Hi all,
I adopted a black labrador pointer puppy when he was about 4 months old and he is now 6,5 months old.

And since I got him: he is shedding like crazy. I mean, after some hours the floor looks like it hasnt been vacuumed in two weeks. It stresses me soo much because I hate dirty floors. So I am just wondering if this is normal and it will change? I use the furninator tool 15 minutes a day and it removes a lot of hair but now matter how much I use it he still sheds like crazy. He doesnt seem unhealthy in any way and he has no bald patches and his fur seems completely normal. I also visited the vet two weeks ago for another reason and he didnt comment anything about his skin so I believe he is healthy.

I have read that labradors shed a lot twice a year but otherwise it is not that much.
This article says grooming once a week is enough,so Im not sure what to take from that. (http://www.labradortrainingspot.com/...shedding-turn/).

Would love any answer here from people with experience
Thank you all.

Typically that is the age when they shed their puppy fur, so if it's shedding season on top of that... it can get pretty bad. It really shouldn't last though.

Most of my shedding experience is with Goldens but this is the time of year for the spring shed. During this time (and fall) I had HUGE hair ‘elephants’ lurking in every corner and up against every piece of furniture. I could sweep everyday but you’d never know it! It was amazing that they still had any hair at all on their body. It will lessen after the shed but unfortunately there will always be hair on the floors with breeds that shed.

I have five dogs, 4 lab mixes and 1 Shepherd, I just swifter once everyday, it’s not bad at my house. I just started adding fish oil and coconut oil to my dogs food. I’ve been told it can help with the hair issue too. Maybe you can try adding that to his food and in a couple weeks it might make a difference?
