Dog shakes

Hi there, Im very new and was hoping someone could help me out because I don’t have a car right now and I live far from a vet.
My 3 yr old french bulldog has become really shaky and lethargic since we arrived back from holiday on the 19th. He was with a friend while we were away and he has been with her before while we were away, at first we thought he was just stressed out but he has never shook like this before and this morning he had some bad diarrhea inside the house.
Any thoughts would be very appreciated, thank you.

Your dog needs to see a vet, there's no way around that.

If you are unable to get him there then you are neglecting him and need to consider giving him up. He is sick and needs medical attention.

I'm sorry if this upsets you but it needs to be said.

I will have my car back tomorrow I was just hoping that someone could help out tonight, I appreciate your concern but it seems he is just constipated and we are going to feed him some pumpkin which helped my other dog last year with the same issue.

I misread the date! I thought he'd been like this for over 10 days.

Good luck I hope it's just some constipation.

Is he constipated or does he have diarrhea? If he has diarrhea, that could be making him very weak, and potentially dehydrated, which can be life threatening. If he is drinking water, the emergency is less immediate, but he still needs to be checked out by your Vet. By shaking, do you mean trembling, or are we talking a normal body shake?

He is drinking water and I think it was both? My sister said he had some diarrhea earlier but then we noticed he was trying to poop and couldn’t but he has pooped twice since dinner and is feeling a little more lively. We will still take him to the vet tomorrow because hes due for a checkup anyway.

It was almost like a shiver but I read online that dogs will do that if they have trouble pooping and he only did it for about 20 mins

Sounds like, and I am only guessing, he may have gotten into something while he was at your friends. Perhaps a toxic plant in her yard or?????? Glad he is doing better, and you are wise to have him checked by your Vet.
