Dog is licking her mouth and bed excessively

The night she came back from the vet (after removing staples from her pyometra surgery), she's been licking her mouth and bed an excessive amount. This morning I caught her very aggressively scratching her mouth her with leg as well.

I have attached a picture of her gums, they look a bit inflamed but I'm not 100% sure. Her gums return to their pink color rather quickly after pressing on them with my finger so I hope it's not a gum disease.

But the picture does worry me a bit because it does look like there's some dark spots on it, not sure what to make of it.

I made an appointment with my primary vet but it won't be until after the new years.

Wash the bedding frequently & give lots of cooled boiled water- fresh daily.

ok it also is recommended to wipe after eating (baby wet wipe is good) & make sure its dry between the folds to prevent reocurrence.
