Question Dog is having diarrhea every night.

I have a 13w old female Aussie and she just recently started having diarrhea but only at night. She will wake up crying at about 12-1 AM and I will get up to take her to the bathroom and she has diarrhea. During the day they are quite solid and seem healthy. We thought it might be due to the fact that she recently got her 12w shot since it started soon after that, but that was over a week ago. Wouldn't it have passed by now? She also vomited one night about 3 nights ago. Should I take her to the vet? Or will it pass with time? Thanks!

If it were my dog I would give it a couple more days and then take her to the vet if it doesn't clear up.

Could be nothing or it could be a parasite. The vet will be able to tell you.

I looked back at a few of your other posts and you've mentioned that your new puppy has had issues with vomiting and now has diarrhea. Has she been checked by a vet? Any puppy that is vomiting and has diarrhea definitely needs to be checked. Puppies can go from being mildly sick, to dangerously sick in just a few hours. I'm not trying to scare you, but when you have a puppy that isn't fully vaccinated then they are at risk for Parvo and other diseases. Has she been dewormed?

You also mentioned that you're taking her on walks...when it's hot. If she has diarrhea and if she's still vomiting don't take her on walks at all. Get her to a vet.

She was checked by the vet about a week ago when she got her 12w shot and he said everything looked good. The vomiting that you mentioned was brief and was a good while ago. She has taken her flea meds which include heartworms and I think roundworms aswell.

I would keep a log of what she eats when, what her stools are like, etc. That will be very helpful for your vet. I would not let my dog go unseen by a vet if she was having these symptoms for more than two days.

If you are feeding her the same food, its not normal for them to have daily diarrhea. You may need to take her to a specialist, IE: an Internist. She will become more and more dehydrated, which will lead to a cascade of other medical issues, best avoided if possible
