Dog Gulping episode (occasional hacking)

My 16 month Yorkie has occasional gulping episodes.

The first time she had ot I thought it was because I gave her a small piece of homemade flapjack which I know I shouldn't have and learned from my mostake but then - she had it a second time and had saliva, panting, pacing, gulping, licking, hoarse throat, couldn't lay with her chin flat on the bed as it disturbed her throat which made gulping and coughing worse. She barely slept. Anyway we took her to the vet and they said its probably infection amd gave her antibiotics and something else to calm her stomach. It worked and she was fine for a few months.

The third time she had an insanely bad bout of diarrhoea and throwing up. She couldn't lay down for 2 seconds without getting up and being sick. Bringing up the bile everytime. Just yellow liquid along with diarrhoea. She couldn't sot still she was pacing, digginf, licking, gulping. It eventually calmed down but we took her straight to the vet in the morning. They gave more antibiotics, sickness tablet, stomach/bowel paste and 2 injections - 1 to stop sickness and again another for her bowels to relax them or something. Again she recovered and was great for months. I sorted her diet and made sure she ate small but often amd a mox of kibble and sometimes chicoen in with it.

The fourth time ahe literally had just gulping for an hour or so then went to sleep and woke up with it gone.

Tonight is the 5th time. She is gulping, occasional hacking amd to let us know she wants up on the bed she will cry ever so slightliy just to be noticed and because the bed is too hight to jump, only for that reason but when she cried a bit I noticed her throat sounded hoarse. When she gulps she panics at forat but when we calm her down she is ok. It seems miserable for her as the constant gulping affects her sleep. Tonights not one of the awful times, she doesn't have as much shmptoms but its one of the long lasting times in regards to the gulping with very occasional hacking. We did feed her wet dog food for a change but I dunno of thats the explanation if she has had it other times when her diet has been normal.

Im sick of diagnosing it with things that have happened that day when everytime she has it the circumstances are different.

I worry a lot about bloat but I hope if she had that I would obv notice symptoms being a lot worse! Its clear ita not a one off infection if it happens a lot. Wether its acid reflux, gerd, allergy - I need to ask my vet for something long term that can give her relief when she has these episodes. Its not fair and she shouldn't have to suffer. Shes such a an amazing matured dog and i want to fix this for her.

Any advice or home remedies? I tried hearing up a finger tip of honey for her throat. Didn't take it away. Always a fingertip of baking soda to see if it would help acid. Im at a loss. Any idea or words would appreciate as its 5:00am where I am and have had a sleepless night due to worrying about my fur baby. Thanks in advance xxx

Time for a second Vet opinion. I agree she shouldn't be allowed to continue to have that discomfort. Perhaps an Internist could get to the bottom of the issue.
