Dog in collision with snowmobile

Happened to a friend's dog. She knew he was sore but he wouldn't eat and barely drank. The next day his eyes were bright and he went for a roll in the snow. Something still not right so off to the vet's. Dog went in to cardiac arrest, they pulled him thro it then realized it was a no go and put him down. She's now facing nearly a $2000 bill. I'd mentioned before she went that it could run $1500 but she felt he needed a chance. She can't afford a bill this big. They can barely make ends meet as it is. I'm just trying to wrap my head around this. If mine I'd have put it down. I haven't asked how her husband took the news, the part about the bill.

So sorry about your friend's dog. I would have probably done what she did and tried to save my dog. Hopefully her husband understands that some choices are made because we've committed to our pets.

I would certainly have done the same. Our dogs ask so little of us, just every chance, possible, to be here and love us.
