Dog ate a lot of coconut oil, worried.
I had a tiny bowl of solid coconut oil on the table that I occasionally put on the dogs' toes. We just got home, and found it on the floor half-empty, and our 9lb tiny Chihuahua's muzzle smells like a coconut.
About a tablespoon has been eaten, and our 12lb might have had a bit of it too. Any suggestions? I know the main concern is pancreatitis, and while they don't eat a lot of fatty things (just what's in their food), last night I made a special dinner that included some chicken livers, and a bonus chicken heart for him. I tried to balance it with protein, but figured I'd keep treats low for a day. Certainly didn't expect this to happen.
