Dog ate half a pistachio shell

My border collie ate half a pistachio shell I'd dropped on the floor. I'm worried that it won't digest plus it could damage his insides. What can I do? I have given him his dinner early to hopefully assist with its removal.

It should - SHOULD, mind you - pass. A pistachio shell isn't that large. However, you can always call your vet and see what they say. They should be able to give you an honest answer on whether or not you need to be concerned.
