Dog acting sluggish

Hi,
My 6ish year old rescue dachshund, Sam, is usually such an energetic boy. Always wants to love and run around. The last few days he had been really slow to walk around. Sits whenever he stops walking, even momentarily. He is eating, drinking, pooping and peeing normally. He just seems kind of depressed. Not so much that I would say he is overly lethargic. I am worried because his behavior changed suddenly but I have no real symptoms to tell my vet. I really wish I had more information to go on. Any thoughts?

Has anything changed in the house before the symptoms started? Given the age, it could be the start of arthritis.

I would have some blood test run to make sure all things are running right since it is so sudden. You don't want to miss anything.

Nothing that I can think of has changed. We are going to the vet this afternoon, even though I don't really know what to tell them. We will see what we find out

I noticed the same thing with our rat terrier this week. Just laying around, sluggish, somewhat depressed.
Maybe it had to do with us going on vacation and her staying behind and now she needs to adjust back to us being here and her sitter being gone.
Could it be the weather as well? It has been around 90 and kind of humid the last couple of days here. A change to how the temp was before.

I hope Sam is just having a mood swing and nothing serious!

If its only been a few days, its entirely possible he has contacted a virus, cold or ??? and may just be temporarily feeling off, like we do when we don't feel well.

Vet checked him out. Blood work is fine, she said doesn't feel like any kind of blockage, no pain in his back or anything. She doesn't know what it is. He's been sleeping all day long.
