Hello doglovers,

I am worried about the leash of my chihuahua getting caught in an elevator and it moving and it happening bad like in one of those videos on internet.

Nope, seems to me that the owner would have to be not paying attention for that to happen. It's simple enough to stand in the elevator door, so that it cannot shut, until the dog is completely in or out, keep control of the leash so that it is clear of the doors as they close. Having a 9 lb dog if I was paranoid about it I'd simply carry him on to, and off of, the elevator and drape his leash around my neck so that it does not drag on the ground.

Freak accidents happen but you just have to stay cautious and paranoid about elevators and always hold the leash and watch your dog closely. My dog's too big to carry and I saw one of those videos a long time ago and luckily the owner grabbed the dog and unsnapped the leash in time so the dog was fine.
Scared me enough to always be paranoid though.
