Ask your vet about adding benadryl or another antihistamine or degongestant to the meds. I have one that did that after a tooth injury as a 7 month old, took benadryl with antibiotics to get the discharge cleared up for him.

My vet said that the irritation form the injury likely got his nasal passages all inflamed and, made them over sensitive to pollen, dust, mold spores and such and, the benadryl was needed to calm that over reaction of his body.

The vet prescribed that initially but that somehow didn't do anything to alleviate the mucus.
