Thanks everyone, the spots are still fading. They don't seem to bother him & nothing about how he is acting is off. There were a lot of gnats out there (driving me crazy!), I will post what the vet tells me tomorrow.

The cause could be gnats or more likely Black Flies. He is doing fine & still does not notice them, most have cleared up, I did not get any meds because they are healing so quick on their own.

Glad it's nothing worse! (Does Advantix repel black flies?? It does sand flies, mosquitoes and stable flies but I don't know if it would carry over. May be worth trying!)

Hey there, I actually believe those are Squirrel bites!
My dog was just bitten repeatedly by a squirrel after he thought it was smart to attack it, and the marks look identical!
