Kids will be kids and, dogs will be dogs. In either case growing up means trips to the doctor (vet) now and then. Either they got sick or got hurt, or both sometimes. You have a kid or a dog, it isn't if you'e going to need to take them to a doctor or hospital, it's when you'll need to take them.
Do your best to keep your puppy safe and healthy and, relax.
Getting pet health insurance may help you relax. I have it through the ASPCA for all of mine. It won't cover preventative or well pet care like vaccines and parasite control but, it will cover illness and injury. Traditionally, you pay then the insurance reimburses you. My vet will let me pay the regular office visit fee, give me the entire bill so that I can send it in and, let me pay him when I get the reimbursement check in a few weeks. At least they are covered when accidents happen.
