My plan is to go to one of those after the Turkey/Sardines.

I checked out the spirulina...it's a powder..... exactly, this:
https://www.nowfoods.ca/supplements/...der-organic-ca

The 'Certified Organic' version is sold on Amazon.
https://www.amazon.ca/NOW-Organic-Sp.../dp/B000MGR1U4

It's not 'forumulated' or prepared for dogs....so, in theory, I could look at other ones?

The 'Maju' one says 'California Grown.' Anyway, I am confused about all this.... I didn't really want it from China but the Now company seems to say it's from India....

I don't know if you can 'choose' the origin ....and as for quality, I said before, I don't know how to tell. How can you tell Springtime has good quality? There's very little info on the site.

Really confusing...

Also, the shipping is too expensive or I would buy it from there (if I could be confident the quality is good). But, it's $8 for you but $26 for me....
Those you listed are probably ok. They sound like it but I just haven't heard of them. I use tablets from springtime just for convenience and it works fine, but powderd can be as good or better.

Springtime uses 100% pure spirulina, manufactured to USP standards and test for heavy metals, pesticides and contaminants. It's labeled for humans as well as horses and dogs. All allergy symptoms went away once I started using it, so the quality is there. It always has a fresh, almost grass or seaweed smell to it.

And yes all those other proteins are all good red meats. That's good variety.

Look up Holistic Pet Organics. They have it, and I may try it also when I need to order more.

I don't know why there is no edit button to edit this to my last post, but I found a list of spirulina sources I had written. Thought I threw them away! But you may want to look at these as well

When I googled Holistic Pet Organics, I only found Wholistic Pet Organics. Is that what you meant? Are they the same?

I did find 'Wholistic...' and it looked good except shipping is expensive, again. On Amazon, I would have to pay $60. :-(

That's my problem - many of these are from the USA and then you have exorbitant shipping costs to ship it to Canada.

The NOW brand in the store seems good, I agree, but I inquired directly and was told it is from India and/or China (Mongolia) - it's organic and I read that when spirulina is organic, it almost always means it's from China (or India, apparently). Do I want to avoid that or do you think it doesn't matter?

Another option seems to be ordering on Amazon (for e.g.) but one that doesn't specifically state it's for dogs - just 'spirulina.'

For example:
https://www.amazon.ca/MAJUs-Spirulin...83Q85Y3PPQCVHN

It should be free shipping but the price is $36.99 but it's supposedly non-organic and not from India nor China - it's supposedly California grown.

I guess that's my options, currently, I think. It's $10 more than the one in the pet store (NOW brand). Btw, the NOW brand is also sold on Amazon.

Thanks anyway for the links - I checked them all out..... unfortunately, the postal/shipping problem for sending them to Canada sucks for Canadians. :-(

I answered that question already. It's expensive getting it from the USA for Canadians. It costs double.

I wish my other question would be answered. I guess I have to decide on my own or ask in another forum.

I'm just asking which one to get - that is shipped from Canada or has reasonable shipping charges.

I think I should get a powder. What is the dosage/for small dogs? 10 lbs... I read that it's 1/4 of a tps but the pet store said 1/8. I better confirm and read up on that but have time since I still haven't decided on one yet.

I apologize for the tone of the previous post but I get anxious whenever I worry about my dog. I feel bad that I haven't decided on something / haven't ordered yet.

I think I should choose a powder that is (supposedly) originating from Hawaii ('Hawaiian Spirulina) or California. The NOW brand rep said it's pure and safe - but, it is from 'Inner Mongolia and India.' I figure, with some of them from Hawaii and California, I should go with one of those. I read that all the 'Organic' ones are from the same place - China and India. One of my questions was, 'What do you think of that?'

What about these possibilities?
https://www.amazon.ca/Pure-Hawaiian-...ZS15ZK898&th=1

https://www.amazon.ca/Thompson-Spiru...pson+spirulina

The Thompson one is cheap but can't find much info on it yet. The bottle displays 'Hawaiian' though if that means anything?

I'm not trying for the cheapest but just something that is relatively affordable and not exorbitant shipping charges. That's why I am kinda of stuck with Canadian vendors and/or Amazon (unless there is another site I'm not aware of).

Springime's product looked fine but I will reiterate, the shipping would cost the same as the product.

Another selection I came across.....does anyone recognize the Earthrise brand?

I can pick up Earthrise Spirulina Natural Powder - 3.2 oz locally. A bit over $20.... okay price, not great but I can at least have it (same day). They claim it's 'California grown' (on the bottle).

Here's some links to check out.

This one is Canadian grown fresh Spirulina so hopefully the shipping in Canada would be free https://spiruvive.com/ and here are the stores in Canada that it's sold in https://spiruvive.com/stores

There's Organika Spirulina, the only ingredient is spirulina. Looks like it's a pound of it for $29.00, but I'm not sure if there's shipping Buy Spirulina Powder Canada - Organika 454G

There's a bunch of brands of spirulina listed on this site, it's free shipping on orders over $69, and $4.95 on orders under $69 https://www.vitasave.ca/shipping-policy
