Remember that you must consider the dog’s relative pH. With the pH ranging from basic to relatively acidic, or more alkaline, the dog’s pH might be disturbed by the shampoo and thus promote growth of viruses and parasites.
Therefore, always take the best puppy shampoo that will balance your dog’s skin.

Same here. I am using a human shampoo, I chose the mild one.Turns out its still not suitable for dogs. Good thing I read your post and all the reply that comes with it. Now I would definitely have to buy a dog shampoo.

Doesn't love it, but will deal with it for a reasonable time.

I did one bath with human baby shampoo, but think I should likely use a dog shampoo.

Anyone with recommendations? Shampoo to stay away from?

Thanks!
Stay away from human shampoo. It's not ph balanced for dogs and can be really drying. With that said, Cowboy Magic Rosewater shampoo is really good, and it's a dog/human/horse cross over shampoo.

The one I personally use and really like is called "Charcoal", from http://kin-kind.com

Baby shampoo is generally considered safe for dogs, but I wouldn't use it routinely. The fact that you used it once is fine. Probably doesn't warrant a trip to the vet or a call to poison control.

According to what I have read here the best way to find which dog shampoo you should use is to test them, because every dog has his own needs. I personally use shampoo from Pro Pet Works. I buy it on the amazon and this is my favorite one, it doesn't smell overwhelming and leaves a coat nice and glossy.

I always use Dog Shampoo because most of the human shampoo is not suitable for Dog. Dog Shampoos are great for maintaining your dog’s coat. With every wash, your dog’s fur will look shiny and smooth. They’ll smell fragrant and all the debris in their coat will have been washed out thoroughly. Each fragrance used in dog shampoos is made from safe and non-toxic ingredients, so it won’t threaten your dog’s skin.
