Hello from myself and Molly (recently adopted 3 year old)! I recently adopted a shar pei mix. She is a big dog and a dribbler at the water bowl... she dribbles from the water bowl, into the den, to my slacks.. everywhere! I try to listen for her to drink and run in right quick to wipe her mouth. She tolerates it, but doesn't like it. Just wondering how other owners deal with this problem. Any ideas?onder:
What I do is put the water bowl on a towel. But the way you describe it, that won't be sufficient for you at all. I have heard there are special bows that are anti dripping but I have not used or seen them myself.
Their inside water bowl is in the kitchen with vinyl floor and I just live with drips. One thing that makes life easier is the large bowl of fresh water I keep out on the deck so they end up drinking most of their water out there.
I have a towel under my water dish but it does not stop my Doberman for dribbling water across the floor and onto me if I don't stop her in time. I just don't walk around with stocking feet any more and just mop it up.
I think this is the nature of dogs. Samantha, though a relatively small dog, is amazingly messy when she eats, and especially when she drinks. Their mouths just don't seal like our lips do for us, though regardless of that, she tends to carry mouthfuls of food to different parts of the house, for some reason.
