Ruffwear boots reviews

Help Wanted:

Anyone on here own ruffwear boots? I can't decide between the Summit Trex and the Polar Trex. Right now they're both sitting in my amazon cart, with additional socks, taunting me as I only have a gift card enough for one or the other. I can't decide:(

So I'm on my knees begging for opinions. I wanted to get them last year but held off and missed out on stock, so I want to act early this year. I bought cheaper ones I could get at the pet store and they rubbed on her "ankle" area, aka hock.

Tessa is a size 2.5 paw, we hike the coulees -up and down terrain with lots of shale, loose rocks, and ice- frequently, snow or shine. She has skinny, delicate legs (no meat on them), and front dewclaws only, if that matters.

Thanks :D

Well, for one, go to ruffwear.com!!! They have a 40% off promo code that ends today PROSHARE15

As for boots, I got Tigger the griptrex and they are fabulous. I think for you, the summits would probably be better. The polar trex, to me, are more meant for serious snow tromping and sports like ski-joring or sledding. They go so high up the leg to prevent snow from getting in. I mean, I'm sure they'd still work fine for you if you really want them. But I'm just thinking that for more general purposes and general seasons, the summets or grips would probably be more ideal. They will be cooler in the summer, less fabric to get caught on brush, easier to put on etc.

I wish I could but they don't ship from their site to Canada :( and thanks! Do they really stay on? Tessa has completely flat fur on her legs which prevents most boots from having something to grip to when tightened so they always flop off.

haha, as I clicked I am aware this thread is old...the time has come again.
I decided to ruff out last winter with the Muttluks but again, my impulse to spend on my dog is calling to me.

I see on Ruffwears website that the Polar Trex are redesigned and are looking good.
Has any members had any good luck with keeping the Polar Trex on their dogs feet?

I am looking at them for skijoring and running through at times deep snow while taking in some back trails.

I know they have to be tighter than most realise so looking for someone to tell me to go buy them that has a dog whos feet did not fall off from being too tight :)

What interests me in the Ruffwear Polar Trex is the contour and the cover over the velcro.
They look like they are easier to put on now too.
