I recently got a 3 month old American Eskimo/Beagle mix. I have a huge yard but no fence. He is pretty small right now but will grow to be around 50lbs. I was looking to get a large circular fence for him to play in. The one i saw was 24" high. Does anbody know if this breed of dog will be able to jump over a fence of that height? If so, any other ideas or places to get a good but not too expensive outdoor fence?
Beagles can be escape artists. You'll want something tall and solid.
Under low cost, you could look into a pallet fence. Some places will give those away for free if you keep an eye on your local ads, they clean up nice. The only costs then are the transpo, installaton, and any pretty-fication you want to do. Easy to make it taller if you need to.
Some of the people around here use it for the training arenas for their horses or as privacy fencing. So I know it can be made to look good and they're pretty tough to begin with just for what they were originally made for.
My 40 lbs eskimo mix can jump over my newfoundland dog, and he's 27 inches at the shoulder. Honestly, I wouldn't go below 5 feet for any medium dog. If fencing your whole yard is too much, just do part of it.
I am sorry for making O/T but must be Eskimo thing (jumping so high)
