I'm considering K9Grass artificial turf...

...for my future dogs. It is clean, durable and much softer on pooch paw pads than a concrete slab. I suspect that since it is designed for dogs especially it won't get hotter to the touch than natural grass. It's more or less like an outdoor bright-green marine carpet for animal enclosures since boat carpeting must be mold and water-damage resistant. It can be cleaned with a garden hose.

This phony turf is formulated especially for animal enclosures. It can be Googled to check iot out.

I don't like muddy dogs in the house to visit during wet weather.

No more muddy paws in the house. No more holes, digging and erosion in the backyard. No more lawn mowing and resodding.

This will line the ground in their chain-link kennel with a concrete curb fence line border the turf edges bolt on to.

It will be totally durable and dig-proof. The dogs will have plenty of shade provision, a heated dog house for cold weather and a plastic wading pool with a bottom drain and stopper for hot weather.

I would love to turf my backyard. I have zero grass left, but that is kinda what happens with three dogs training agility. :p

Let us know how you like it!

I haven't absolutely decided to get astro turf just yet. I'm still studying up on it. Concrete slab was another consideration but I feel it might hurt the dog's feet and joints.

I will have to ask my vet for some suggestions first.

I would love to have artificial grass. My backyard is littered with lumps and bumps and bare spots, and I'm sick of the dirty dusty paw prints in the house, or worse, muddy paws and bodies. I've been trying to come up with a solution for the coming muddy weather. Artificial grass would be my ideal, but it's a big job, and quite expensive. And I'm not sure how it would be with clean up. I might just get a smaller space done. At least that will help some.

I'm definitely following your topic since we're planning on the same thing. My gf is allergic to grass but we want a more dog-friendly yard than we have now. (Pebbles and a square of dirt and plants).

We're still in the planning stage and looking for the ideal type of grass so i'm very interested in your choices en progress.

Good luck with it
