Help in choosing an airline approved crate

Hello all! I'm finally adopting a lovely cocker spaniel in wherever I'm expat-ing. Unfortunately, they're not as well stocked as most other developed nations so I would need to buy myself an airline-approved crate when I'm holidaying in the US.

I would probably be going to Petco to look for them (any other recommendations?) and I'm not too sure what exactly I would need to look out for.

I know I would need metal screws and some zip ties door, but can anyone confirm this please?

Also, I don't have the dog yet, and I have a rough measurement of him - would this be enough to purchase the crate?

Thank you all so much in advance!

Check your airlines specific regulations...they all vary a bit.

You will indeed need a crates that bolts together in half...not clips or other type of hasp.

You will need a crate that is large enough for the dog to stand up and turn around.

You will also most likely need a crate mounted water bottle.
