dog boots?

I think I need to find/buy some dog boots. The salt really irritates her paws.... and it's colder.... I might need to ask about a coat soon, too. I was given a coat that's a little large (it's a 'M' and she probably needs a 'S'). But, I have nothing for her paws yet.

Do you think that these paw 'balms' are any good? There seems to be all kinds out there nowadays - many claiming they're 'natural' or 'vegan.' Are they any good? I can either order one or probably can find a 'natural' one (that I haven't heard of and it doesn't indicate vegan at all...just natural - it's cheap, $7.99 - but the ingredients look fair/ okay - I guess).

I bought 'RC Pet Products Pet A Wks for a previous dog - never could get them on....I tried today with my current dog.... same thing... although, today, I did get one on...with lots of trouble.... she didn't like it at all. I think the most overrated, most annoying product, though, is PawZ Rubber Dog boots.... I couldn't get the 'opening' wide enough and my dog moves her paws away any time I try.... I misplaced these - bought them last year- but, they're useless anyway.

I noticed two new products (new to me) - one is from Hagen - 'Dog It' dog boots - they use the velcro style. Another velcro style boot is - Wellies Dog boots (from 'Canada Pooch?') and they have two types, 'regular' or 'lined.' I could buy this one with a short walk to the store.

Should I take a chance on the velcro style? I worry about them coming off or the dog trying to take them off but I have more confidence in getting them on than what I previously bought.

Can anyone recommend anything or comment? I need some help here. :-/

I bought these a few years back, when my dog had an injury on his finger that needed protection.

To me, it's great. If wet, it dries very quickly and my dog didn't seem to mind wearing it, after a few minutes to get used to. It's washable and I have been able to use it on many occasions.

Now, a few days ago, my other dog needed to wear a boot after a minor injury on her nail, I was concerned at it has snowed a lot in my area and that dog is pretty crazy. I though it wouldn't stay on; But it did even thought it's not the right size for her (bought for the other dog) and even though she did run like crazy in the snow...

Excuse me for the dirt on the boot, but as I said, my dog was wearing it.
I don't know if you can tell as it is covered in snow, but she is wearing it in the last picture.

The only thing is: they were quite expensive...
