Hello! Our new dog (about 2 years old) likes balls a lot, but he has already broken into two tennis balls (one with a rope attached to play tug). I threw them away, but was hoping for some suggestions for balls/toys that will stand up to some heavy duty chewing.
Our other dog has never chewed up a toy, so this is new to me. Theo (new dog) has Kongs but isn't all that interested in them once the good stuff (food) is gone. He also has a nylabone that he will chew for a bit, but he seems to really like the tennis balls - maybe because they "indent" so he really feels like he's chewing them? Just a guess by me.
He also made a bee line for one of the kids' hockey practice pucks (black rubber). My son was headed out to skate, so he took it back from him, but would those be OK for a dog to chew on? We have a million of them and they are pretty cheap to buy anyway
Christmas is coming and I'd like to pick him up a toy or two for his stocking. I figure suggestions from been there done that dog parents will help so that I don't spend a lot of money experimenting on toys that will end up in the trash within a day!
It's funny how they are all so different. Like I said, our other dog has never destroyed a toy in her life! We just pick her out whatever catches our eye!
