Alternative To Rope Toys

I have two dogs. One is about 5 or 6, and the other is around the same age. We used to get rope toys for them, but then they starting pooping out rope and string would be dangling from their bums. We stopped buying them, and then I realized how fortunate we were that the ropes didn't cause irreparable damage.

We buy bones for them now. One dog loves to play with balls, but the other, not so much. He loves chewing. He is alright with this hard bone, as he doesn't destroy it, but he doesn't love anything like he loved ropes. Now he chews on his tail and underwear. Are there any safe alternatives to ropes that are of similar texture and won't cause damage to his health?

Thank you!

Its a good idea to train your dogs to spit on command. Keep an eye on them & if you see chewing lots (my dog will run around chewing & looking at me if she has something in there she shouldnt swallow) tell them eitha spit it out or drop it. If they dont & you safely can scoop it out then do so. My dog loves those rubber bath toys & I let her have them as a pup cz she would cry & cry for them, but I had to teach her to spit the bits out. The same she's demolished plastic toys from the pet shop- but spits the peices back out. You dont want them choking on anything ropey. I dont give her the rubber anymore coz she demolishes them too quick. The kong toys are janet proof.
