Question Deer Bones

Pre message: If you have anything against hunting please realize that in a lot of places hunting is a way of providing for a family. Please don't post on my thread if you have something negative to say about hunting.

So my dad got a buck today. He is letting me use the liver and heart for training treats. Also He is allowing me to take the bones for Chester. But there's a question I have first, before I go and feed them to Chester. I have heard that bones of larger animals are harmful to the teeth, as the dog may chip a tooth. Is the deer bones to large or would they be fine?
Any other concerns that I should have about feeding deer?

Thank you guys for your time!

Hi, the only thing I've heard about bones is that raw bones are safe for dogs but ones which have been cooked can crack and cause them to choke. You might want to do a bit more research on a hunting forum before giving them to him.

In general, any weight bearing bones are not recommended as they are too hard for dogs to chew on. I would probably stick to ribs, and antlers are FABULOUS treats for dogs.
