Hi

I am very curious to what colour or colours jessie will be, i think she has brown on her head but not sure if its more red and she has faded and greying. Im attaching a photo she is 6 months and shih tzu x aussie terrier and its first dog that i have had thats 2 breeds. She was jet black when i got her. I see silver/brown on mouth and silver on paws and a bit of silver on ears coming out. Just want opinions

I hope LynneMarie pipes in. She can tell you about coat changes.

I think she will have an adult coat at 18 months. I thinks he will look like she is for the most part, though. I don't think you will see a dramatic change from this. She might be brindled or grizzled.

Thanks marbar for the reply much appreciated i have got to admit when she faded it was very sudden and dramatic to the point people asked if the shampoo had bleach in it. It wasnt until i googled shih tzu and coat change i foudn they can fade and grey and if they grey they can turn silver.

Her tail is brown for sure with grey. Never had a dog change colors before so very intresting

It will depend on if you let her grow out or if you keep her short. When grown out a dog will be darker due to the coarseness of the hair. Shaving softens the coat which causes it to be lighter in color.

Like marbear posted..she will be in adult coat at 18 months so you will be able to tell more then. To me she looks like she is blue/black with silver highlights. As an adult she may be more blue silver like a silky terrier. She could also be silver black sable. Hard to tell for sure.

Hope that helps.:)

Thanks lynnemarie that helps alot. I had to get her groomed when i did because the weather was too hot and having a long coat and very messy one well she got really hot in the crate, but i am letting it grow for winter so she will be warm.

Ive seen a blue/silver silky terrier and what a beautiful color. What a beautiful coat she wil have then!
