Lol, the shiny floor test . The last gsd pup I had was an awesome dual purpose candidate. He was coming along perfectly in his training, but would completely shut down on a slick floor. He had to be washed out, and ended up going to a detection job at a prison, where I guess the floors are dull . I spent three months working him on this problem with very little improvement. It was funny to watch this clumsy pup ready to take on any threat, then plaster himself against the wall when the footing changed.

hahah awww thats so sad. its funny how they react to things. my kids are fine with any flooring, they never really cared about it. my youngest had a funny reaction to sand the first time he was in it, but got over it right away and went about playing.

On behalf of the papillon, I just want to report that they are considered excellent tracking dogs. I plan on getting one as soon as I've saved up enough money.

Now that I have left this forum, this post still bewilders me, WTF is a Dual candidate, to me that is a Psychologist/Sniper. Your Dog is either Hammer/Nail or wood, so what is a dual candidate?
