oh! thank you for explaining... funny all i could think of was HR= human resources, and though the words are close, the concepts aren't!

Thank you .

I still use the word cadaver, but now I guess its more "proper" to use HRD. Either way, its a body, or parts.

Kinda late dropping in here, but how would one go about training a dog to look for human... remains.... Is there something you aren't telling us Julie?

But seriously, how would you train that?

Just the same as any detection. Teach the dog that the scent source (human remains) equals a reward.
I use tugs or balls. Soon as the dog gets in odor you reward. You can do long throws with scented towels, to teach ranging. Then add an alert, I prefer sit, or sit and bark. Then increase time in the alert.
Teaching search patterns, ranging, directionals, buried source, high source, underwater, its pretty simple.

So, are the remains fabricated sents (like what they can use for drug detection where it's the oils) or do you have little vials of actual remains?

I dont use pseudo scents. I get everything from the pathology department at a hospital. So I use blood, placentas, teeth, bone, organs, even large amputations.
