What exactly do you want him to do for you?

Be home with you? Requires no training. Comforting you? Requires no training.

And ESA is just a pet. It doesn't require any training.

But I would suggest teaching your pet to be calm.

If you let us know exactly what you are looking to train we may be able to help more.

My dog is trained that when I have a panic attack to get in my lap and nudge me. But it is something I think a good choice of dog would naturally do.

I agree with Eckokitten, no training is needed for an ESA, just a really good bond between the two of you! You can train the dog to get in your lap like EK suggested. My PTSD/TBI service dog in training gets in my lap to ground me anytime I am uncalm or get dizzy spells. She is trained to lean into my chest and remain still. She absolutely loves to do this and will periodically climb onto my lap just to check in with me!

I left some training tips to get your dog to follow you on your post in dog training!

I have only stumbled across this thread now @coffeelady1980. My 7 month old pup has no formal ESA training, but he knows when I have a panic attack and he will not leave my side. Eckokitten's suggestion of training your dog to be calm is a great one if you do want your dog to have some formal training.
