Unfortunately in health. Randomised Controlled Clinical Trials are the gold standard test for efficacy.
Any new treatments, therapy dogs being one example, dont have this sort of evidence base as yet.
Invest money in the research to prove it works, and then governments will be able to justify expense.
I totally agree with therapy dogs do indeed improve patients outcomes of their clinical treatment. But my and your opinion counts for jack, when it comes to forking out money. RCT's are required.
