German Shepherd Lingo

So I've noticed, surrounding the GSD breed there's a lot of lingo i.e. lingo, IPO, nerves, etc. I have a general idea from reading or whatever, but I want to be sure it's all correct assumptions for both me and for those who may look this up in the future. All ideas and definitions are welcome! Thank you in advanced~

IPO today is essentially the same as Schutzhund was, not quite sure why the FCI came up with a new name, maybe because the SV caved in ? Three components tracking, obedience and protection as far as I know.

Good debate as to what nerve means. I'm going with, a dog with solid nerves can handle stressors without missing a beat especially when the dog is not in high drive mode.

Good nerves, won't jump, shrink, shy or startle.
I would expect would also means stands their ground when under genuine threat, but will not feel threatened without a good reason.
I had no idea the gsd folks had their own lingo, like the fishes answer to 'what is water like', fish, "what's water?" :-)

I think it's more so just working dogs in general, but then it narrows down to what type of work. Drive to a working fox terrier breeder would probably be different to a schutzhund breeder, and what "high drive" actually are would be different to a water rescue Newfoundland than a PP mali, so on and so forth. I kind of just generalized the lingo I'm looking for to the GSD, but I'm sure it would surrounding the Mali, Dutch Shepherd, and European Doberman.
