Dementia Dog Research and Design Project

Dementia Dog is a research and design project looking at the benefits that dogs can bring to people with dementia. We are looking at how dogs can help through the emotional benefits of companionship, the social aspects of walking with a dog and how a dog can help you sustain a routine and therefore remind you of important daily tasks.

It was originally pitched at Glasgow School of Art by four design students (one of which is me) for a project that was run in collaboration with Alzheimer Scotland. The project gained funding from the Scottish Executive and was then one of five winners of the Living Well With Dementia challenge from the Design Council, it now runs in collaboration with Alzheimer Scotland, Dogs for the Disabled and Guide Dogs UK.

The project needs your help!! We need people to leave their stories of dogs and dementia at www.dementiadog.org

Thanks
Phoebe
