Cgc tomorrow... I'm gonna puke

I NEED relaxing techniques for me!!!

I'm so freeing nervous. The trainer has told me its just a test, snapshot of the dog in that moment on that day and to not be too nervous but I can't help it. We've worked really hard, I want to be a good partner to him tomorrow but don't want my nerves to get the best of me!! Suggestions, comment, anything??? I need good joo-joo for tomorrow lol ... Banner might go like this -----> and I might cry, like real tears all the way home if we fail :/

My advice, don't sweat this. World peace is not at risk if you two don't do well, and you won't win the Nobel Peace Prize if you do well. The whole idea of this sort of thing is to have FUN with your dog. If you get so nervous you want to puke, well, that may not be fun. As a dog trainer, I've seen some awesome teams fail the CGC (under a hard but fair evaluator). They just had a bad day on that particular test.

Relax. Enjoy the time with your dog and learn through it, whether a success or not, how you can become a better team together.

Eat a healthy breakfast and reward yourself with some ice cream when it's over.

You'll be great! Remember you can always retest if something happens Practice a little bit beforehand (but not too much, don't get him bored) with treats and don't tell Banner you don't have any treats during the test!! lol.

Let us know how it goes, and good luck!!

i literally dreamt all night about cgc lol!! i do love our trainer, she has high standards and knows any dog she signs off on is "her name" which is great, i want him to deserve the title not just get it just because. That being said I really am just going with the expectation of having a good time, not the expectation of us passing weve worked hard but he is a dog and we both make mistakes (both in my communication to him and him being well, an animal not a performer) and it isnt the end of world if it doesnt go well i would just be very proud if he got it on the first try. He knows what to do and does it well... i just wonder how the "no crossing over" will go with another dog, hes super friendly and wants to play with everyone. Im hoping I can keep his eyes on me guess we will see though.

Thanks for the encouragement. I am dropping my kids off with my mother in law so its just us which will limit the distraction as hes constantly watching where we all are
