[quote=Chris;112312]Is there someone with experience of having a brood bitch for Guidedogs

Hi Chris.

Yes, I am a brood bitch holder for Guide Dogs, and my brood has had three litters, soon to be mated for her fourth. I puppy walked for Guide Dogs for many years and one of my puppies came from Irish Guide Dogs )

I also had a brood for Hearing Dogs who whelped and raised her litter in my home, and also a very young rescue who had been straying in Ireland and was found to be pregnant (in pup) when rescued and brought to the UK.

I am happy to tell you of my experiences with the whelping and raising of the litters. I expect the Irish Guide Dogs have the same procedure.

I absolutely love doing this for such a good cause and I hope you do, too.

I've only just joined this forum today and found this topic which is so close to my heart.

Best wishes

I think that third link I posted may have some good info for you.

Just a reminder to the folks out there, a lot of guide dog pups don't make the cut for guiding or even service work. Most organizations have those pups up for adoption. I love that video!

LOVE LOVE LOVE that video - it moved me to tears - because of understanding the dog and letting it be exactly what it was meant to be, and for the value it gives to the human lives around it - thank you so much for sharing!
