Moko is currently obsessed with the tree beside the shed. Dad has some antlers buried under four feet of snow and she's determined to get them. Unfortunately, snow turns to rock-hard ice about one foot down but she swears she's makin' progress... just a little more diggin'...

Here are some pics from the end of the season which here was this weekend. They time we got one was rough going, tough scenting conditions made it slow and there were lots of hunters out making the rabbits hard to pattern. The pic with 4 was a great way to go out for the year. Only had a couple hours but fresh snow made our work easy! We had a ball that day. Gotta love beagling!!

Oh wow, your rabbits are brown! Ours are just losing a bit of their white!

It looks like a productive day!

I use to hunt with my hounds years ago. I still scent tab them, and they track up game, but I traded in my rifle for my cameras.

I don't hunt, but come from a town of 1/2 Hunters and 1/2 hippies. I'm a self taught fly fisher though. I get funny looks from the big shots being a young chick with all this ancient gear (I must say I have caught some pretty big Trout and Kokanee) Remy gets some good leftover meat and organs from friends back home. She had has bear, elk, moose, venison, mountain goat and bighorn. I eat hunted meat (rarely) but am otherwise a vegetarian. The joy of being from the Rockies!

Sorry this has nothing to do with dogs. My German Shepherd mix bit a bear in the bum last summer though. Does that count as her hunting?

You could say we hunt. We send a few dogs out loose on our property to hunt down the local wildlife and murder it. Not exactly what most hunters do. :P

Hell your dog is better at it than ours. If you're ever in WY we have about 200 rabbits on our property you are welcome to eradicate.

Man sounds like heaven! We love running them. Something about my dog just shines whenever we put the hunting collar on! It's a beautiful thing watching a dog do just what he or she says bred for. Some might call me crazy but closest thing I can compare to when I unload him at the hunting ground parking lot is that famous pregnant woman glow!

On a kind of unrelated note, anyone else have any pics? Love checking out the proud dogs and owners after a good days hunt!

Just saw this post, and I know my reply isn't thread related but man British Columbia would be so awesome! Very jealous. I too am a big trout fisherman but unfortunately after I moved out of the heart of Iowa trout country it's a 3 hour one way trip to the closest streams I still get up there a few Ttimes a year but it is NEVER enough!
