Need Help Finding breeder in the U.S?

Hey, i have been doing some research and i have been in search of a new dog. i didn't want to get anything too big but i also didn't want a small dog. i have found a dog called Gonczy Polski. here is a little information about it (Gonczy Polski Information and Pictures, Gonczy Polskis) i have been researching them and only seem to fund breeders in Poland but i feel that it would be alittle pricey to ship one over to the US and would like to find a breeder in the US

thank you for any help or advice you can give me

sorry, i don't think i'll be much help, my best advice would be to define all of the qualities that you like about that breed, and look for another that has them...unless you want to pay to have one shipped from poland lol...there are lots of dogs that are similar in appearance, physical ability, etc...that you could find a little closer to home. the most important thing, if you are looking for a purebred dog is to look for a good breeder...if that doesn't matter, there are lots of homeless dogs in shelters that make good pets

looks pointerish...lol also reminds me of a Vizsla.

Never heard of it...I agree, probably a pipe dream, unless you want to import one...other thing is , with uber rare breeds, there is often waiting lists years long to get a pup.

do you need a hunting dog? Alot of the hunting breeds (or just working breeds period) tend to be a pain in the rear if they are just pets.

what are you looking for in a dog?

no i don't need it for hunting, i just fell in love with the dog when i saw it. I am looking for something that is medium sized, active, friendly dog but also knows to be wary of strangers, and that does not shed.

is this your first dog???-no this is not my first dog, my past dog we had to put to sleep =(

what do you like the most about this breed???- i like the look of the dog because it's not a big dog but it has that nice physical build to it, also that they are friendly, but wary to stranger, also that they are active

how much of a commitment are you planning to make to the dog???-it's going to be a very big commitment, it's very lonely with out a dog

what kind of training experience do you have???- my father lived on a farm so he knew a lot about teaching the right things.

would you see yourself training the dog to have a job???- yes and no, id like for it to be protective over my family but other then that no, just a family dog

how active are you???- well i play soccer everyday so very active

what is your lifestyle like???- their is always someone home to be with the dog, and we take a trip every weekend to our house in the Poconos where we use to bring our old dog, so we interact a lot with the dog

Doesn't shed at all? Or doesn't shed heavy?

Med size and no shedding you are looking at the larger shnauzers and poodles

actually... standard poodles ARE what you describe, and can be used as gun dogs.

well we looked into poodles and my mom was not a fan but we would like something from no shedding at all to minimal shedding, unless it is something you recommended i would like that is close to the gonczy polski.
