| I Cant Wait Any Longer...I Want My Own Dog!!! Here's the thing, yes I am 15, and it might seem a young age to be able to take full responsibility of a dog, but I really think I can do it!
But the thing is, my parents wont really let me have one because we already have 3 dogs, and they think it wouldnt work bringing a new dog into this environment etc.
But surely there must be a way to make this work, yeah?
I have a dog walking job, and that's how I will be able to pay for all my dogs food, toys, etc.
But, before I ever get my own dog, I would have a bit of money put by just in case my dog needs to go to the vets for any reason. And also since puppies need those 2 jabs, I will need to have money for them before hand as well.
Boy or girl dog? I really don't know because we have 1 boy and 2 girls already. I don't think another boy would be good because they might fight and be territorial and that, but then if I was getting a dog and I got a girl, I would need to pay extra money for the op to stop it from having pups. But then I think I would get on better with a boy dog...
I just really need some ideas on how I can get just 1 more dog into our house. I will always love the 3 dogs we already have, no matter what! But I just really, really, really want a dog which I can call my VERY own dog, and one which I can spend my life with
P.S: I get home schooled so I will always be at home with my dog, and the others etc
Thanks people x |

| If your parents say no to a new dog, then you're out of luck! Sorry, but thats the truth, plain and simple! |

| Just be glad you have three already. I'm still waiting for the right time to get a dog; I've never had one. I'd just focus on doing things with the ones you already have. |

| same in my case I'm 11 and I really really want a dog you're lucky your family have 3, mine none. we're waiting for a house which you can have pets in(live in a flat) That's why I love holidays I go to the country in Poland and my auntie and cousins there have three dogs I love them even if two have fleas. One is the one i talk about in the needs of rough collies. Yeah convince your parents then yay. In this other place my dad's sister and her kids have a GSD and she's gorgeous. Altogether my aunties and cousins have 4 dogs. 2 are kept out side on a chain and the ones with the rough collie I dunno because they moved house in November and I haven't visited since.
Good you've got the money but will your parents agree could you keep me updated this seems like an interesting matter!

| Maybe concentrate on the 3 you have now, and put money away for one, show you're parent's that you are serious about getting you're own dog !
They might think that you only want one and will get disinterested in it, depending how much time with the one's you have currently.
Out where i live though, if you live in the city you are only allowed 3 dogs... though, that could be a factor if you are in the city and you have the same city law. |

| The city laws are diff anywhere you go. That is a good point though, you have to be sure you are able to have another by city law. Our law allows up to 5. But then that is only if your parents say that its okay. I am a mother myself and I homeschool. I have my dog that I love very much and my 10 year old has a dog that lives with her dad now. Her dog is a good dog but my youngest was just to hard for a little dog to be around 4 years ago so she had to switch houses. Last summer my youngest wanted her own. She worked real hard to show me and she did get one. We now have Ocean added to our family. I do the taking care of in most ways and she takes care of her in what ever way a 5 yr old can. Between the two of them they are doing very well.
Something you have to understand though is that we now have 2 dogs in the house. For me, thats a lot. If anyone else in my home wants another dog, well, there just is no way. Shampoo, shots, food, training treats, for fun treats, the time to walk them, the time to train, costly potty clean up in the house, way more poop to clean outside, possible accident, getting fixed, it goes on.
I know you said that you are making your own money but it is really costly. Put together how much you make in a month and how much the dogs allready cost a month.
I know you want a dog and thats a great thing to want. But first before you can respect to learn a dogs culture, you must first respect your parents home and rules. Many children dont even get one dog. You have 3. I didnt get to have a dog most of my childhood. Maybe they arent just yours but they are in your home and a part of yours. You should really enjoy them and learn about them as much as you can so that when you have your own place, you are ahead of the game on knowing what you want and how to go about it. If you really think about it, you will know that you can really have some fun with your dogs you have now and we would love to hear all about them. |

| Awww I know how tough it is to try to convince parents sometimes
I think you sound VERY responsible and dedicated, but obviously if they say no-there's not any wiggle room there.
I would continue along and see what they say. Keep saving your money, and do your research-that shows you are dedicated and responsible and they will notice that I bet |

| Please dont feel that we are against you, we arnt, I swear it... We want to hear about your 3 dogs and how much you love them and the silly things they do. We want to help you in any questions you might have about them and researching what kind of dog you would like when you have your first place of your own. |
