I am curious about this as well, since when I first started posting about Grover's reactivity here, I asked about owner-guarding as a possible cause. But then we did DS/CC and he improved, and I assumed he was just generally fear-reactive to other dogs. Up till now, we have not really got close enough to another dog to tell if he displays more specific resource-guarding behaviors. I have found plenty of information on resource-guarding of food but almost none on person-guarding - most articles just note that it exists and give no information on how to deal with it.

Anyway, I just signed Grover up for Reactive Rover classes at the SPCA with the goal of getting to do more controlled set-ups, which will let us assess his threshold distance better and give us the chance to work at closer distances. I'll see what the trainer knows about the link between owner-guarding and reactivity, and also possibly get the chance to observe guarding behaviour in his closer interactions with other dogs.

so far so good, she has been getting into everything, I havent taken her to the dog park, afraid she would get bruised and injured and the risk of bleeding, but I think I am going to take her today, she has been crying at the door and been naughty out of boredom, The vet said it should be ok, Ive been giving her the K1 , I will be so happy when 30 days is up and they do a time blood test, I wanted them to do one today, but her vet said it was a waste, that we are doing everything necessary ,,,

Thank you for a check-in! I have been slammed with school and just haven't had time to post. Things have been going good though, Dyno has been on several hikes and a backpacking trip and has been doing very good. I'll have to update with photos and his training journal when I can!

I know you're super into raw feeding. Since I'm a newbie, I was wondering if you have any info on the risks of salmonella and raw and food safety?
