We are rescuing each other
Hello Everyone! I'm Megan and this is my first post, as a first time dog owner.
On and off for about a year I've been researching dogs and dog care to determine if a pup was right for me, what kind of pup, what I will need, how to train etc etc etc. The past several months I've treated it like my full time job, got approved from all the shelters in the area, and last weekend I officially met three rescue pups that I was interested in. I was looking for an adult small dog, short coat with some pug ancestry as my reading concluded they fit well with my lifestyle and smaller sized townhome (owned).
One particular little girl had my heart from the beginning. She was found about an hour from where I live with her still-nursing pup and presumed boyfriend huddling under a warm air vent of a building when it was -20 degrees out. She was skin and bones since she was giving everything she had to her puppy. Well, she comes home next Sunday (to be spayed on Wednesday now that her baby is fully weaned). The shelter named her Cameo but I'm not very fond of it and am still deciding. Since no one knows what her name was before she was dumped it's wide open.
