Needing advice

I understand that some people are afraid of dogs, and i would never put anyone down on it.... But i need advice. My dog is ALWAYS friendly. She honestly loves people more than she likes other dogs. Today we were at the beach- just her and i - and this couple started walking by and when i tried to call her back she wouldnt come (which isnt like her) when i went to get her i seen that the couple were terrified of dogs. I asked them to just calm down so my dog would calm down (i could tell Maggie was getting excited because the people were whining and the woman was hiding behind the man which made maggie start to circle them because she thought it was a game.... The man told me he was going to kick and beat my dog.... I then threw a stick for her and she ran back into the lake as that was the only way to divert her attention.... I told the couple to keep walkinf and the guy continued to lip me off. So instead of walkinf away before my dog got out of the water next thing you know here she is again barking at them......

I am just frustrated and overwhelmed as this has never really happened before....is there any advice for me?? I would appreciate it alot

The couple was in no way to blame, the dog is your responsibility. Good thinking on your feet, by throwing the stick! Some people are afraid of dogs, and people have been mauled and killed by dogs so it is not as if it is a totally irrational fear.

Just work on recalls in different situations until you have it rock solid, even if she thinks something is a game, the recall should trump everything.
