"squiggles"

Ok, my pup is 10 weeks old and when I first got him a month ago I could understand this, but since I know he can hold his pee through the night I just don't get this.

Sometimes he leaves pee "squiggles" all over. He doesn't actually do a full pee, but rather it seems like he's trying his hardest to hold it, but it just comes out as he's walking.

Like I said, I KNOW he's capable of holding it and sometimes when he's done it he had been out not more than 15 minutes prior.

Is this normal?? Is this just because he's a pup or should I be concerned?

I've never heard of this happening... My puppy doesn't do this, and only once has he done an excitement pee. Lot's of my friends have puppies and they've never had this happen either... I think you should talk to your vet, maybe your puppy has a bladder problem. When did this start?

He's always done this and I just figured it was because he was young and couldn't hold his pee, but now that I know he can hold it I worry that it might be something else. He'll do these "squiggles" but then do almost a full pee when I take him out.

I do not expect puppies to have much control at all at 10 weeks. It sounds like submissive or excitement urination to me. Could be a vet visit is in order.

We had a similar problem with a puppy some time ago but it all settled down by about 4 months and no problems since

I have never had a young puppy but at 10 weeks I am not sure he should be holding his pee all night but someone with more knowledge correct me if I'm wrong.

it might be caused by the weakness of the muscel sphincter it controls the flow of urine from the bladder. It might be this, dunno. If the problem continues or comes again you might consult a vet
