Hi everyone, I'm new here.
I have a female dog that I adopted from a shelter about 2 weeks ago. She's 10 months old but she's started peeing and pooping in the house. She will go outside and do her business but she still pees and poops in the house. We let her out several times throughout the day. Is there anything else we can do?
One thing to note, early in the morning when she knows that we're getting ready to go off to school and work she refuses to go outside and go to the bathroom. She knows we're getting ready to leave so she won't go out. I stay home with her during the day and she'll go out a couple hours after the other family members leave and goes to the bathroom. She doesn't go to the bathroom in the house between this time.
She's been checked out by the vet and she's perfectly healthy so I'd really like this behavior to stop.
We've always had dogs around and we haven't had this problem yet.
Any advice would be appreciated. She is a very smart dog and a fast learner.
