help puppy wont poop or pee outside

hi i recently picked up a puppy from middle of the street tried to find where she came from but no luck i am not certain of anything but she had rediculous amount of fleas very skinny and a few little scabs on her face i believe she hound german mix best i can tell sweatest thing ever and have considered keeping her BUT we can not get her go out side nor can we catch her in the act
of going inside its like she backwards on were to go potty please help

Here are some tips!

-Feed on a schedule. That way you will be able to better know when you puppy needs to go potty (well at least #2).

-Always reward her when she goes potty outside. Use treats, playtime, praise.... whatever it is that she goes crazy over!

-Take her for a brisk walk if you know she needs to go potty but isn't. The exercise will help to get get things moving!

-Take her out often! With my most recent addition, I took him out every hour until I had a better feel on when he needed to go.
If your puppy doesn't go potty, then either tether her to you or put her in a crate. Then try again 15-30 minutes later.

-People often find it helpful to record when their puppy or dog goes potty when first trying to housetrain. Manytimes you will start to see a pattern which will help you to know when a dog/puppy needs to go out.

-Always supervise her when she is inside! Tether her to you with a leash, or use babygates to keep her in the same room. If you can't see her then you won't know what she is doing! She could be chewing on something or going potty. If you are always watching you should always be able to catch her and take her out to potty.

-If you are not able to watch her then put her in her crate or other special puppy proofed area.

-To not give her access to the entire house. Close doors and use baby gate/xpens to limit where she can go! Again if you aren't watching her 100% of the time how will you know when she need to go out?

-Clean up any accidents. IMHO an enzyme cleaner like Nauture's Miracle works best. That is that brand I have used in the past but there are plenty of others on the market! Enzyme cleaners are great because they will remove all odors! If you clean up with someting different you may not be able to smell it, but your puppy still could. Any remaining odors could be signaling to your pupy that this is their place to go potty.

That's great advice from kmes. I have a few more tips that may help you:

Try buying some puppy training pads. They have a scent that entice the dogs nose to pee. Once she starts peeing on the pads indoors, move the pads outside.

Keep notes of when she drinks water, it is likely that she will need to pee half an hour after drinking so try to be outside then!

Cleaning up any accident she makes in the house is essential. make sure you use a product that will completely remove the scent from the area that she peed on. If this is not done then she will be attracted to the scent of her last pee and will likely pee in the same place again.

My little girl was born in the dump and had the same problem. I had never had a dog that was born out side. Mine used to come inside to potty. That is the problem they dont know outside from inside. Its hard but you have to teach them that out side is for potty.
