When you take your dogs to someone elses home...

make sure you know ahead of time that they have changed their feeding schedules!!!

We took our 2 chihuahuas to my bf's mom's house with us (we went to CA for the weekend). We did not take our crate as the doors are always open and towels are done for the little dogs to go potty whatever. Anywho, we show up and there is a huge tray of dog food on the floor outside. I figure maybe the girls wont eat it all. We let them down, nothing, they dont go for the food so that made me happy.

Move forward to the first night, we come back from dinner and Wendy is whining, I figure she is hungry and is not sure what she is supposed to eat (I figured 2 days of different food wouldnt kill the girls, they dont have uber sensitive stomachs) so I show the girls that the food in the tray is what they eat. Bad move, Tinkerbell wouldnt STOP eating the rest of the weekend she is our chubby chi who has gone on a diet. She starts to burp after eating lol. Nothing I can do except move them away from the bowl and inside and repeat if they go to eat, wendy got it but Tinks couldnt give a crap less. She kept jumping off the bed to go outside so I went out there and picked the food up and put it away LOL

The best part btw is now..... The next morning I see her dump the leftovers over the fence to the neighbor dogs (her other son lives there) then proceeds to take large amounts of food from 5 DIFFERENT BAGS OF CRAP DOG FOOD! and put them in rows on the tray!!!! She has 1 chihuahua, chihuahua mix, JRT, and JRT/chi mix...all but the last one are overweight. NOW I KNOW WHY! Last time we went out there she filled one bowl once, wth happened to that?!

Oh even better...she throws a whole crap load of cheese puffs, pork rinds, and animal crackers on the floor. I decided we are taking the crates from now on and if we are not home they are crated in a room away from everyone else, otherwise they wont go! I even said something to her, but....we dont have a great relationship so she brushed it all off like I was paranoid. If my girls go into kidney failure or something I will make her pay lol. UGH

There is my rant

Well the only place I take my dog to is my friend's house and she always feeds her dogs the best there is.

However, I still bring my own dog food basically because I feel bad if my dog eats their dog food since I didn't pay for it. My friend tells me not to worry and that it's okay but I still feel better just taking a couple bag fulls of belle's food and giving her what she's used to.

My dogs don't really go on many holidays. When deedee used to come with us, we never went somewhere where there was another dog, so of course we bought our own. They rarely visit other homes, except sparkys best friends house down the road. Sometimes we take his doggie friends for a walk with us xD (we're friends with the owners, these aren't just some randoms lol ). But next time I think a crate would be good. Atleast she had a nice holiday!
