Exclamation What am I doing wrong??

IM having a problem with Rhinna. PEEING whereever and when ever she feels like it in the house.

This morning as soon as we woke up she jumped off the bed and ran downstairs ahead of me and just peed. NO going to the gate like she normally does.

Fix for this I think is I walk her down the stairs, Hook her to the leash thats hooked to the couch(works similar to a crate Not much room to do her business without her having to lay in it, so she doesnt do it). Hurry get kids dressed for school, take her out to do her business--cant leave kids to get themselves dressed...poke a dots and stripes sound familiar?

At night, she's pottying, not every night. Mostly right in the cat's room. which is off our bedroom. She has not attempted to 'dirty' our room(any ideas why? she always leaves the room to do it"....

Schedule:
7am alarm goes off
7:20 take her outside to go potty, walk around block
8-12pm-inside house, doing whatever, playing with toys, kids, cats..sleeping
12-outside for another walk around the block and potty time
12:30 -4pm inside again
4:30-outside to go take walk around block and potty time
5:30-9pm Inside playing or more than likely sleeping.
9:30-last call for potty time

Last night i was extremely sick so I went to bed at 8pm. She did very well and didnt potty at all in the house.

I had a crate but let someone borrow it they then went and sold it to someone who now expects me to buy it back...uh NO....

Opinions are welcomed.

First I think I would talk to the person who sold it and tell them to buy it back. Or buy you a new one....

Maybe shut your bedroom door so she cant get out and mess in the other room. She isnt peeing in your room as that is her room too and most dogs wont mess where they sleep.

You might want to take her to the vet though and have her checked out just to make sure she doesnt have any type of infection too.

Maybe you could get a baby gate to put up at your door? Or you could tether her to the leg of your bed so that you have a handle on her on the way down?

Im still waiting on my landlord to put up a railing so i dont accidently fall off the edge of the steps. Our house is set up weird. Im thinking about doing a cat door so the cats can go in and out of the cat room when ever they want to.

It sounds to me from this thraed and the other thread you posted that you need to completely start from scratch with potty training. Not only were you having trouble getting the dog to go while on a leash suggestions to get a dog to potty while on leash?
and now dog is pottying inside too.

Here's what we put together on potty training. You'll need to read it carefully and follow it to a tee. This (Your training the dog) is no special circumstance-if the dog is weeing in your house-it's your fault not the dogs fault. Dogs WANT to please and were bred to please for 1000's of years. Your dog is doing what she thinks you want her to.
You NEED to be watching more carefully and you NEED to be taking the dog out more.

Here's the housebreaking How-To's-please read them carefully and ask us questions if you don't understand something-but these WILL work for you IF you follow them Good luck!

House Training How Tos:

I think what it all comes down to is she went from being allowed to go in and out at free will via a doggy door to being in a house where I have to take her outside to go potty. WHICH by the way she is doing so on the leash. when she goes in the house its not alot its a sprinkle of pee(if you know what i mean) Like she didnt want to hold it or couldnt hold it.

She does have a vet appointment, by the way. I am going to be working with somebody i know who is good at training dogs. Cause she is NOT listening to any commands well in the house she isnt, outside she will sit on command and stay, leave it and such. But inside she absolutely plays dumb...

I've only had her since the 11th so i know it takes time.

Well I'm glad she's going to the vet, and that you're getting some help training Please keep us posted on how that goes!

I hope it goes well. Im going to be also trying to teach her to ring a bell at the gate to go out. My friend suggested it along with some other things. We will see how it goes.
