My neighbors are morons....

I'm sitting in my living room, and I can hear my neighbors outside in the hall with their dog. She's a pibbleX, and sweet as can be. This is what I'm hearing.

*Whistles for dog multiple times* (I'm pretty sure she's not leashed.)
"You better listen to me, you hear?"
"Come here." X10
"You're a f*cking retard. You better listen to me!"
"Sit down right here."
"NO! sit HERE!"
"Now you better stay."
"STAY!" (the dog yipped, right after a thump.... I think they kicked her.)

"Hey! HEY! Get your ass back here!"
"I told you to stay, didn't I?" (smacking noises)
"Get your ass back there and STAY!"

there is more currently being said, but you get the idea. That poor dog...

And hearing a dog be abused you didnt say anything? I would have beef watching from the first moment of verbal abuse and would have spoken up loudly at physical abuse. You are just as much in the wrong for letting it happen.

Did you seriously say that? I'm 8 months pregnant, and I'm home alone (which isn't in the best of neighborhoods.) The neighbor I'm talking about is a raging alcoholic, so bad that I can smell it walking by their door. This man has had altercations with other residents, too.
So yeah, I didn't speak up, because I'm looking out for the well-being of myself and my unborn child. Thanks, though.

I've had to deal with alcoholics. Alcohol is evil.

As much as it bothers you, I wouldn't confront him about it. I would go as far as making him think you don't have problem with what he is doing if the issue comes up.

If I hear it again, I'll make sure to tell the property manager. He is a wonderful guy and is TOTALLY against animal abuse. We had an issue with a neighbor right after we moved in that would leave their 8 week old PB pup out on their balcony when it was 30-40 degrees (sometimes lower) without any type of shelter. We told him about it, and it was addressed immediately. Every time we go up there he asks us if its happened anytime after it was addressed.

On a side note, this area is stock FULL of doggy morons. It makes me sad, and I really do want to say something, but the type of people around here aren't the best and shouldn't be messed with, if you catch my meaning.

Hmmm and have my dogs poisoned and tires slashed. No thank you
If anything. Get it on video and show to ac. Confronting these types only leads to retaliation ime.

Wow sorry you have to deal with that. I'd hate to have to deal with that and not being able to do anything. Hope something is done about them in the future though. Must be hard to sit through it when you can't do anything.
I'm glad the most I ever have to see with my neighbours is underexercised, understimulated dogs, and people yelling at their dogs for stupid things. Then again I'm on the non alcoholic side of town. I know worst things happen on the alcho side of town where the pub is...
